Please read these terms carefully before using the Stribe application.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Stribe mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Stribe is a location-based social networking platform that enables users to:

  • Join local community groups based on geographic location

  • Post "shouts" for services, tasks, or community announcements

  • Connect with nearby users through direct messaging

  • Discover and participate in local events and activities

3. User Accounts and Registration

Account Creation

To use Stribe, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Age Requirements

13+ You must be at least 13 years old to use Stribe

Users between 13-17 years old must have parental consent.

Account Security

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

SMS Verification and Consent

Stribe uses SMS verification codes to authenticate your account. By providing your phone number during registration, you explicitly consent to receive SMS messages from Stribe for account verification purposes.

How Consent Works:

  • You provide explicit opt-in by entering your phone number on the Stribe login screen

  • You must check the box confirming you agree to receive SMS verification codes from Stribe

  • The screen clearly states that message and data rates may apply

  • After submitting your number, you receive one-time verification texts only when you initiate authentication

Opt-Out Rights:

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any verification message. You can also reply HELP for assistance. Standard message and data rates may apply. Opt-out and help keywords are managed by our messaging service provider (Twilio) by default.

4. User Responsibilities and Conduct

What You Should Do

  • Use Stribe responsibly and respectfully

  • Provide accurate information in your posts

  • Respect other community members

  • Follow local laws and regulations

What You Must Not Do

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content

  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users

  • Share inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content

  • Violate any local, state, or federal laws

  • Spam or send unsolicited messages

  • Impersonate others or create fake accounts

  • Attempt to hack or compromise the App's security

  • Use the App for commercial purposes without permission

6. Content Guidelines

User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you post on Stribe but grant us a license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App.

Prohibited Content

Never Allowed:

  • Hate speech or discrimination

  • Sexually explicit content

  • Violence or threats

  • Illegal activities

Also Prohibited:

  • Spam or scams

  • Copyright infringement

  • Personal information sharing

  • Fraudulent schemes

Location Services

Stribe requires access to your location to provide location-based services. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your location data as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Account Termination

Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your personal information will be removed according to our Privacy Policy.

Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in harmful behavior. Reasons for termination include:

  • Violation of community guidelines

  • Illegal activities

  • Harassment of other users

  1. Multiple reports of inappropriate behavior

  2. Attempts to compromise App security

  3. Repeated spam or abuse

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Service Availability

We strive to maintain App availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

User Interactions

Stribe facilitates connections between users but is not responsible for the actions, content, or behavior of users. Exercise caution when meeting people from the App.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stribe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

9. Additional Terms

Indemnification:

You agree to indemnify and hold Stribe harmless from any claims arising from your use of the App.

Governing Law:

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country].
